POSITION POSTING

Position Title:   COUNSELLOR  - PART TIME  (14 hours per week)  

We are looking for a Counsellor to provide individual and in group supportive counselling to persons with dementia and their families. This position will be based at Haldimand Abilities Centre in Hagersville, Ontario but may also require traveling across the Haldimand & Norfolk counties.

Specialized Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

• Eligibility for membership in a Professional College
• Experience using Microsoft Office Software
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Some evening work may be necessary  
• Valid Driver's licence and access to a vehicle

• Ability to work independently in a professional, self-directed yet collaborative manner

Experience Requirements:

• Experience working with older adults
• Experience in group work
• Ability to communicate fluently in French is an asset

Educational Requirements:

•  University or College Degree in Social Work (MSW, BSW, SSW) or a comparable educational preparation for the role
