About Foundation

The Hamilton and Halton Alzheimer Foundation was formed to raise, invest and manage funds which support the Alzheimer Society of Hamilton and Halton. For several years the Foundation has shared a common Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer with the Society. Although they are separate charitable organizations, the Society and Foundation are closely linked.

The Foundation raises funds through in-memoriam & celebration gifts, donations, and third party events. In addition, the Foundation organizes several fundraising events including our Walk for Memories in January, the Yvonne Alexander Memorial Golf Classic in June and our annual Coffee Break in September. More than 30% of the operating costs of programs offered by the Society are raised through these donations and special events.

The Foundation is embarking on a new approach to fund development by offering donors more opportunity to support the work of the Alzhiemer Society through ongoing donations, planned giving, leadership gifts and gifts of appreciated securities.

Garden of Hope Members

Our Garden of Hope was launched in June 2007. It is a garden of community members who have committed $1000 or more to our organization through a single or pledged donation throughout the calendar year.

Corporate Donations

Sponsorship opportunities are available for all of our major fundraising events and are a great way to show your support while promoting your business. All sponsorships are deductible as an advertising expense.
