Today, we are at a tipping point. The number of Canadians with dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease is rising sharply, due primarily to our aging population. The Alzheimer Society Foundation of Brant, Haldimand Norfolk, Hamilton Halton is dedicated to financially supporting the Alzheimer Society of Brant, Haldimand Norfolk, Hamilton Halton.
At the Alzheimer Society Foundation, we understand the challenges for those who receive a dementia diagnosis and those who care for them. The Society that we support, is there, every step of the way, thanks to the generous support of caring donors like you.
By making a donation today, or considering a donation in the future, you can help provide support to a family living with dementia in your community.
Last fall, we could not have imagined that our world would be consumed by a health care crisis impacting every part of our daily life. But that is the reality we find ourselves living today.
Your local Alzheimer Society has responded to the pandemic by continuing to support persons living with dementia and their care partners – adapting our services to meet the reality of operating in a COVID-19 world. We quickly learned how to provide many services using videoconferencing tools. Counselling over the telephone and in-home visits from social workers continued. A new website, Alzheimer Society at Home, was created that offers social, recreation and education resources and online classes. Our offices have been re-configured to safely support in-person visits with clients and small in-person support groups, exercise, and education sessions. While the way we work and connect with our clients has changed through COVID-19, our core vision to help people live well with dementia has not.
We are proud to say that we never stopped providing service – but it has come at a great cost. This year, more than ever before, we need your help. The pandemic has impacted all of us differently. If you are able, we would appreciate your financial support to help us maintain the services we provide to the growing number of people impacted by dementia in our local communities.
