First Steps for People with Dementia

The First Steps for People with Dementia series is designed to help individuals newly diagnosed with a dementia and their caregivers to understand their diagnosis and the changes they experience.

Next Steps for Families 

For family members and friends of persons with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.  This four session series provides an introduction to Alzheimer’s disease and dementias.

  • Dunnville March 1 to 22  (Thursday Afternoons)
  • Hagersville, March 6 to 27 (Tuesday Afternoons)
Options for Care

For family members and friends of persons with dementia at home or at a retirement residence.  This 3 session series will focus on community care resources and long term care:  How the systems works, application processes, and preparing for the day of the move.

Care Essentials

For family members and friends of persons with middle stage Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia.  This 3 session series will focus on communication strategies, activities of daily living, how to manage behaviors and caring for yourself.  This series is offered in partnership with allied community support services.

  • Dunnville, April 5 to 26 (Thursday Afternoons)
  • Simcoe, Mar. 6 to 27  (Tuesday Mornings)
  • Simcoe, Saturday, Feb. 4 (Full day)
Care in the Later Stages 

For family members and friends of persons with dementia facing end-of-life decisions and seeking support.  This series is offered in partnership with Village of Wentworth Heights LTC.

Creating memories for our families to share and enjoy is a natural part of life.
