FOR: Caregivers SESSIONS: 8 weekly sessions, 2 hours per session, maximum 6 care partners PURPOSE: Teaches problem solving techniques, coaches caregivers in communication skills through the use of simulation. TOPICS: Focuses on practical skills and emotional supports.
FOR: Individuals with early stage dementia and their primary caregiver(s). SESSIONS: 4 PURPOSE: Introduction to Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias to understand the diagnosis and learn about tips and strategies that might help you day to day. TOPICS: The different types of dementia, the resulting changes in the brain, planning for the future, and strategies to remain independent for as long as possible. Groups require pre-registration. TOPICS: Focuses on self-care, healthcare system navigation, relationship changes, future planning.
