Diverse Community Outreach
Serving the city of Hamilton’s Diverse Communities
A brief history of the Diverse Community Outreach Program
Through a generous donation of the Hamilton Golf and Country Club’s Borthwick Charity Golf Tournament, the Alzheimer Society of Hamilton Halton was able to hire a Diverse Community Outreach Coordinator (DCO) in late 2018. The DCO’s role is to bridge the gap between the Alzheimer Society’s services and community agencies whom we’ve previously not had the opportunity to be connected.
It was in February of 2019 that the DCO coined the term CODE Project. This name stands for Community, Outreach, Diversity, and Education. This project has many different facets and offers various opportunities for the diverse communities of Hamilton to be better supported by the Alzheimer Society of Hamilton Halton.
